3 Simple Techniques to Improve Focus

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where your mind is racing and focusing feels impossible? We've all been there. The good news is that there are a few easy tricks you can use to sharpen your mind and regain focus. Watch 3 Ways to Quickly Improve Your Focus on the FreeYourself YouTube channel to see a demonstration of the following techniques:

1. Breathe to Relax

When your thoughts are all over the place, start by taking three deep breaths. Breathe in slowly through your nose, and then exhale through your mouth. As you breathe out, imagine that you're letting go of any stress or worries, just like letting smoke disperse into the air. This simple breathing exercise can help calm your mind and make space for clearer thinking.

2. Soothing Touch

When things get chaotic, sometimes a little physical touch can go a long way. Use all your fingers to gently touch your forehead where your hairline is. Then, run your fingers through your hair and let go. As you do this, feel the tension leaving your shoulders. Repeat this motion as many times as you like. This can be a comforting way to relieve stress and remind yourself to stay present.

3. Tap for Clarity

Here's a unique technique to try: set a timer for one minute on your phone. Use cupped hands, light fists, or fingertips to tap your belly (gently but firmly) below your belly button. Tapping can help you clear away mental clutter and bring back a sense of clarity. You'll be surprised at how effective it can be in helping you focus.

Incorporating these techniques into your daily routine can make a big difference. Remember: breathe, touch, and tap.

It's okay to take a moment for yourself.
